1964 Royal Bank of Canada, Castries, St. Lucia

As RBC expanded throughout the Caribbean, it's presence in St. Lucia began in 1920, opening its first branch in Castries.

RBC opened this branch in 1920, closed it in 1932 and then re-opened it in 1960.[1]
1964 (20 FE) Castries, St. Lucia air mail letter to New York, NY. 15¢ plus 10¢ paying the 25¢ air mail letter rate to the US, effective January 1, 1963. Staff applied straight-line CASTRIES, ST. LUCIA to indicate point of mailing.
 		  
The U.S. International Postal Rates, 1872-1996 lists the 25¢ incoming air mail from St. Lucia as effective December 1, 1965[2]. I'm grateful to the members of the British West Indies Study Circle (www.bwisc.org) for confirming the actual effective date was 1 Jan 1963. Therefore, the postage paid is correct, and not short-paid.
